[August 2018 Update] This scholarship is no longer being offered. We would like to thank all previous applicants and wish everyone the best of luck in all future endeavors. Should anything change in the future, we will be sure to publish an update!

Issuetrak is proud to announce the Spring Semester 2017 #HeadInTheClouds Issuetrak Scholarship! We’ll be awarding two $1000 scholarships to university undergraduates working toward a degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other related field.

As always, the scholarship is essay based and intended to encourage critical thinking about an important issue in the field of information technology. This year, we’re asking applicants to write about a cloud computing question that many IT professionals must currently consider:

Compare and contrast the effectiveness of providing IT services using cloud computing versus servers located on-premises.  Discuss the issues of security, cost, flexibility, and disaster recovery.

Applicants should explore this topic in a focused essay of 750-1000 words. Essays will be judged, in part, on thoughtfulness, clarity, persuasiveness, organization, and originality. All references must be cited, as plagiarism of any degree will result in disqualification. The deadline for the essay submission is November 12, 2016.

Other Requirements:

  • GPA of 3.0 or better
  • Attending an accredited college or university
  • Majoring in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related field
